Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapies such as laser therapy, shockwave, pulsed electromagnetic field therapy and ultrasound therapy are non-invasive, drug-free therapies that work by stimulating the body’s own natural healing processes.

Laser Therapy (Photobiomodulation)

  • How it works: Uses specific wavelengths of light (low-level or “cold” lasers) to penetrate tissues.
  • Effect: Stimulates cellular repair, reduces inflammation, and promotes pain relief by increasing blood circulation and releasing endorphins.
  • Uses in rehab: Helps with arthritis, wound healing, tendon/ligament injuries, post-surgical recovery, and general pain management.

Shockwave Therapy (Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy – ESWT)

  • How it works: Delivers high-energy acoustic sound waves to targeted tissues.
  • Effect: Stimulates tissue regeneration, breaks down scar tissue or calcifications, reduces pain, and promotes healing in joints, bones, tendons, and ligaments.

Uses in rehab: Often used for chronic musculoskeletal conditions such as tendon injuries, osteoarthritis, hip/elbow dysplasia, and back pain.

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF)

  • How it works: Uses low-frequency electromagnetic fields that are pulsed into the body.
  • Effect: Improves cellular energy (ATP production), enhances circulation, reduces inflammation, and promotes bone and soft tissue healing.
  • Uses in rehab: Supports fracture healing, arthritis management, post-surgical recovery, and chronic pain conditions.
